NESO joins representatives from eight major student unions from seven states in the Middle East in calling on student unions to celebrate Black Day.

Student organizations said that although people in the East continued to protest against the Data (Amendment) Bill 2019, the Indian government turned a blind eye and implemented “cruel laws”.

According to NESO, December 11 will always be remembered as “Black Day” in the North. “This view is to send a message to the Government of India that we are against the Data (Amendment) Act 2019 and also to remind our people and our citizens of another political act done by the Government of India in the past.
