First time in Nagaland's history, the all-girl NCC band will march

25 NCC junior wing cadets from St. Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Lerie, affiliated with 1 Nagaland Girls Battalion NCC, Kohima, will be forming as part of the NCC Brass Band representing the NCC North Eastern Region (NER) Directorate in the prestigious Republic Day camp 2024 for the first time in Nagaland’s history.

25 NCC cadets, ages 13 to 15, will march on the Kartavya Path as part of the marching band during the Republic Day Parade in 2024, according to PRO & spokesperson Ministry of Defence.Every year, HQ Directorate General NCC, New Delhi hosts the famed Republic Day camp, when NCC cadets from all over the nation compete in a variety of events.

With regard to their new uniform and institutional training, preparations are in full flow.The band will also attend training camp at the Assam Rifles in Kohima from October 1 to October 10, and then the pre-RDC camp will be held in December 2023. On December 25, 2023, they would depart for the Republic Day Camp at DG NCC, New Delhi
