Governor of Tamil Nadu, RN Ravi, who formerly served as the governor of Nagaland in the northeastern state, has chastised DMK politician RS Bharathi for comments he made in which he purportedly called members of the Naga group “dog eaters”.
The leader of the DMK had declared: The Nagas drove the governor from their territory. Dog meat eaters have the power to drive the governor from the state. Thus, we must not lose sight of the greater sense of self-respect Tamils who use salt in their diet possess.
The leader of the DMK said this while mocking the governor of Tamil Nadu, RN Ravi, for allegedly stirring up problems and holding up bills.
RN Ravi criticized the DMK leader for calling the Naga community “dog-eaters,” calling the comment “scurrilous and unacceptable.”

“Nagas are honorable, bold, and honest people. The public demeaning of them as “dog eaters” by senior DMK leader Thiru RS Bharathi is ludicrous and unacceptable, according to Ravi.

“I implore Mr. Bharathi not to cause harm to a community that the entirety of India is proud of,” he continued.
