Nagaland to host 10th edition of NEIMUN from November 3 to 5

The youth of the North East have been invited to the 10th Anniversary Edition of North East India International Model United Nations. The North East India International Model United Nations through a press release informed that NEIMUN Secretariat 2023 will be hosting delegates at the three-day conference scheduled to take place from November 3 to 5 at Kohima.

NEIMUN 2023 is a youth leadership conference organised by the NEIMUN Foundation and is the first Model UN conference in the North East region of India. It is also one of the few conferences in the world to follow the UN4MUN (United Nations for Model United Nations) procedures, developed by the United Nations to accurately simulate the actual proceedings of the UN. Anchored in the principles of the United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security, the conference aims to address critical issues affecting the region, including drugs, small arms trade, poverty and conflict arising from the climate crisis.

It stated that the Conference will bring together over 200 young minds between the ages of 18-25 years from all the states of North East India. They will be sensitised and capacitated on the UNSCR 2250, Youth, Peace and Security and empowered to take up leadership roles and engage with topics and issues under this theme. With a continued commitment to leave a lasting positive social impact, NEIMUN includes its ‘Speaker Series’, which will host eminent personalities, panel discussions, interactive workshops, global village and social events for networking and celebrate the diversity of the region.

NEIMUN called upon colleges and universities to nominate their students to apply and become part of the ever-growing NEIMUN family – a community of young leaders.
