Border between Assam and Nagaland is under nighttime curfew

On the Assam side of the district of Sivasagar, which borders Nagaland, a 5-kilometer zone will be subject to a nighttime curfew, according to the Additional District Magistrate (ADM) of Sivasagar, Assam.
According to a government update, the night curfew will go into force on September 7 and last for 60 days. It will be in place from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM.
It was decided to enforce the night curfew as a preventative step to stop extremists, criminals, and other undesirables from entering the Sivasagar district through the Assam-Nagaland border, it stated.
In accordance with the directive issued by the ADM of Sivasagar, it is completely forbidden for any individual, group of individuals, or vehicular traffic to go within the designated area during the night curfew.
But some exceptions have been permitted. This prohibitory order does not apply to magistrates, security guards from the Army, CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force), and Police, as well as civil servants who are on duty.
